Selegiline

Treating Parkinson disease. Selegiline is taken with levodopa/carbidopa.

Selegiline is a monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor. It works by prolonging the anti-Parkinson activity of levodopa, which may help to slow the progression of Parkinson disease. Selegiline has no anti-Parkinson effects of its own and must always be given in combination with levodopa/carbidopa.
